Heineken Secret party with Nosaj Thing & Caribou

Posted in Is it Nice..? by Ade Chong on May 1, 2011

So our much anticipated friday night finally arrived. We went to the Heineken Secret Party, featuring Nosaj Thing‘s Singapore visual show debut and Caribou (DJ set).

I’m actually really glad that Singapore’s finally picking up the ‘underground’ party concept. Though underground and popup events are somewhat inauthentic (cause they aren’t really that secret), they are almost always interesting experiences. A great example is Secret Cinema. I love that brands and organisers are learning to be more creative and it actually genuinely makes me feel happy that big names are becoming comfortable enough to step out of the box these days.

So anyways, back to the show. The party was at an old, abandoned school building on Margaret Drive. They set up the venue in the school hall. The outside was covered with secrets (collected from Secret Booths around Singapore) written in UV paint. We were given UV pens and black light flashlights to write around the inside of the hall. Or on ourselves. lol

The main event was Nosaj Thing’s visual show, which was fucken AWESOME. Really stoked that they brought him in cause I’m a maaaaassive fan.

Hey, you’ve gotta become a Heineken member. I don’t really know how you go about doing that though, I went with a friend who’s a member.
