The Start of Autumn
Just a quick update on my life in general. It’s been hectic as hell. September saw the end of summer and the start of autumn, which actually has been quite bearable and pleasant, despite what the locals say. We’ve also been having more and more dinner parties lately. It’s just cheaper and frankly, more fun. Been experimenting with a lot of recipes that I half-know, just messing around the kitchen. So far they’ve all turned out quite alright!
Bak Kut Teh cooked overnight. I cheated slightly with the herb packet, but I did use actual chinese tea to make this. Steph made yellow ginger chicken too.
Steamed cod, garlic mash and fresh salad. Decided to be a good wife and cook dinner for Steph while she was still working.
(I am dismayed to say that I have turned into one of those Asian people who photograph their food all the time.)
We also FINALLY found the time to not get shitfaced over the weekend so that we could go to Ikea and get some much-needed stuff for the house.
ISN’T THIS AWESOME?! I LOVE THAT HIS ASS LOOKS LIKE HIS FACE. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Also caught Crystal Fighers last night at Rough Trade. They look like complete hipster assholes, but at least their music was good. Afsar & I went to the back of the store so we wouldn’t have to look at their faces. It was quite nice!
This week’s gonna be quite awesome, with Crystal Fighers last night, Of Montreal tomorrow, Laidback Luke on Saturday and Glasser on Sunday. Killaaaa!
