My heart is a bomb and you’re the detonator
The Pipettes tonight were pretty super to catch. I like that they threw in a lot of small touches to impress such a humble crowd. The boys had matching shirts and the girls had matching dresses. They choreographed their moves and even got a small symphony to play along with them when they did “Pull Shapes“. And they spent their time between songs talking to the audience.. it was a really fun and un-serious gig, which felt really fresh.
Was really looking forward to meeting the band members after but Jon and I decided to make a run for it to avoid this Lithuanian dude tt had been following us around all night. The guy actually a) started caressing my arm almost immediately after introducing himself, b) hugged Jon after being separated from us for 5 minutes, c) came down to look for us 4-5 times in 20 minutes, d) drank from my beer and e) asked us repeatedly if we liked him as a person. O_O
But aside from that, I’m really warming up to The Lexington. It’s a great, cosy venue and they host some pretty good bands. Might become a regular hangout for me.
We also discovered this other band called The School. They were still a little raw and you can tell that they’re a young band but their sound is just so super-infectiously-happy!
